David Cameron is due to visit Brighton this Thursday and The Argus is asking readers to send in their questions for him. I have submitted the following question, and I hope it gets a mention as I think it is particularly relevant here in Brighton and Hove.
At a time when you are pushing the unemployed out of the benefits system, why are you also removing all incentives to employers recruit? Removal of the Future Jobs Fund and Train to Gain funding has left employers with no incentive to recruit an unskilled workforce, and as yet there have been no new incentives announced. How do you propose to tackle the anxiety this is causing for society’s most vulnerable, especially when scathing cuts continue to be made to existing overworked mental health services?
